Bryce and Nicole loved the design of their 10 year old table and chair set, but didn’t like the color.  With 5 young children (two sets of twins and an older brother), they needed a durable finish that could withstand the abuse of their active youngsters.  This was a challenging project no doubt.  An 8 foot table with 12 chairs and 4 bar stools seemed daunting at first, but no furniture is too much for TWK.

We first degreased every inch of the pieces.  Then we sanded with 220 grit paper (we love to use our power sanders as much as possible, so any flat surface gets the orbital on it).  We also got to do a significant amount of hand sanding in between rails and rungs on the chairs.  Next we deglossed each surface to ensure adherence of our colored lacquer.  Then we sprayed 3 coats of white (sanding in between each coat) and 2 coats of clear protective lacquer.  And to ensure the durability of the table top and chair seats, epoxy was put down on them giving a beautiful solid finish.  We were so happy with how it all turned out, and as you can see, the set fits much better in the kitchen now.  All in all, the total cost for this project was around $3,000.

Chipping Paint And Aging Hardware Needed An Update

Brian and Jessica reached out to us because they were tired of looking at the chipped finish on their cabinets and wanted to update the look of the kitchen with new cabinet hardware for their home.

The cabinet color was the same as the trim color used throughout the house, so they wanted to retain the same color. The total cost of this project was around $5500.

Here’s a breakdown of what was done:

• We were able to precisely match the original color
• Repair the damaged sections of the cabinetry
• Refinish and add new pull hardware to create a kitchen that looks brand new

After raising 4 children for 28 years in the same kitchen, Deanne decided it was time for an upgrade.  She decided she wanted more of a darker cherry look, and we were able to deliver.  Not only did we save her thousands of dollars $$$, but we gave her additional cabinet space and a modern kitchen to match the rest of the house.  This kitchen was a u-shaped 120 sq ft kitchen with an island, and we’re so pleased with how it turned out.  Total cost was around $6000.

Here’s a breakdown of what was done:

• Extended the upper cabinets on both sides of the kitchen to give an additional 20 sq ft of storage space.
• Replaced the old pin hinges with soft-close hidden hinges.
• Custom dark cherry color with a black glaze.
• Repaired broken doors
• Added shelving to one of the cabinets
• Refinished window seal and frames around ceiling lights to match the kitchen color.
